Norwich Arts Centre: Talent Development Partner 2018

Internationally recognised, Norwich Arts Centre is firmly established in the heart of Norwich’s cultural community as the leading contemporary arts venue, delivering a daily programme of events and continually supporting the development of artists.

In our role as Talent Development Partner Norwich Arts Centre is proud to support the development of outstanding musicians through the provision of showcasing and mentoring opportunities. They do this primarily through the Sonic Youths (14-19yrs), Pony Up and HARK initiatives for emerging and mid-career artists.

Sonic Youths is tailored to the development of musicians aged 14-19 in the indie rock/pop, hip-hop, jazz and electronic genres.  Pony Up events focus on emerging and mid-career artists across ages creating original music in the rock/pop, hip-hop, spoken word genres. HARK promotes electronic artists with emphasis on providing opportunities to “bedroom producers” lacking performance experience.

SALON is a new Sonic Youths initiative for 2018/19 providing a safe creative space for young musicians to get together and collaborate, hear from industry professionals and learn best practice from each other.

With the individual needs of artists in mind, NAC works with an overall target to establish and support sustainable careers within the music industry, providing clear progression routes both in house and beyond.
