Snape Maltings: Talent Development Partner 2018

Snape Maltings is set in an area of outstanding beauty on the Suffolk coast, and is the home of a range of artist development programmes as well as world-famous performance venue.

As Talent Development Partners, The Snape Residencies programme will continue to provide a space for musicians and other artists at all stages of their career to experiment, pursue new projects, and recharge creative batteries. Residency artists and projects range from contemporary classical music to African and Caribbean, electronic, opera, hip hop and everything in between.
The programme provides an ideal environment for unusual partnerships and collaborations across genres and art forms. Innovation, collaboration and risk-taking are encouraged, and benefit from the unique resources and expert support of Snape Maltings.

Snape Residencies include all resources and support, and cover the costs of artists’ meals, accommodation and UK travel. This year, the support of the PRS Foundation will allow us to trial a bursary scheme, which will offer additional financial support to artists who could not otherwise afford to take part.
Every Residency includes an Open Session where creators share their work in whatever format is useful, from full performance to informal work-in-progress. Additionally, some projects may be invited to participate in Snape Maltings’ wider performance programme such as the Aldeburgh Festival.
