Sneaky Pete’s: Talent Development Partner 2018

Through the PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Partnership – We are running an exciting talent development programme in three strands, hosting 30 live shows in total.

‘Central Belters’ focuses on headline shows from great new artists from Central Scotland. We’ll work closely with Scottish press and radio to get maximum exposure for the artists, and attendance for the shows. Each show should be considered ‘special’ for the artist and be a landmark show in their burgeoning career.

‘Night Music’ is our live electronics and more experimental music strand. As well as established touring acts, we will also host dance music producers normally known as DJs, debuting their live shows with us. Electronic producers are often expected to make their living from DJing, which is sometimes distant from their true craft, and isn’t always right for the close listening that musicians deserve. We’ll put live performance to the fore.

Finally, our ‘New Waves’ strand is an opportunity to showcase brilliant music from around the UK. Grassroots Music Venues like Sneaky Petes are the research and development arm of the UK music industry, and PRS for Music Foundation support will help us continue to create opportunities for musicians. As “the home of new and exciting music in Edinburgh”, we consistently choose to host bands based on quality rather than a “safe bet” that the show will make money, and in doing so we create opportunities for bands to hone their craft.
