Sound and Music: Talent Development Fund 2020
Sound and Music is the national organisation for new music. Our vision is a world where new music and sound prospers, transforming lives, challenging expectations and celebrating the work of its creators. Working across three areas of artist development, audience engagement and education, we: – support a range of talented composers, both to develop artistically and professionally, and to create and share ground-breaking new work – help audiences to discover and experience new music – enable children and young people to explore and express their musical creativity We strive for a world in which more people of all ages and from all backgrounds have more opportunities to access, create and enjoy new music.
Support from PRS Foundation enables us to deliver our composer development programme. This is a structured development programme comprising residencies, touring opportunities, coaching, mentoring, and networking days for composers of all genres at key stages in their careers. The two key strands of this work are New Voices and Composer-Curator.
