OCM – Oxford Contemporary Music: Talent Development Partner 2020

OCM is a champion for cross-genre, cross-disciplinary music and sound, for imaginative presentation outdoors and in public spaces. With feet in both music and outdoor arts worlds, OCM connects creators with audiences and it is this expertise that attracts pioneering creators from across the UK to work with us. 2020 – 2021: The Talent Development Partnership is supporting 3 strands of OCM’s work; Boom – an intensive creative development residency programme; Commissioning of new work – from projects at the R&D stage to long term development and touring; and a live events programme of new work. These strands run alongside OCM’s other educational and development projects including a youth music-making club, early years music projects, primary school music education and an international music camp for young musicians.

‘Being a Talent Development Partner this year has been invaluable for OCM and the music creators we support. This type of funding and partnership is a game-changer in enabling specialist support for music creators in a field in which it’s difficult for them to find funding in exactly the way they need it, and especially difficult this year. It is investment in music creators’ long-term development and allows them to experiment, develop their own ideas and to acquire long-lasting knowledge, contacts and skills.’
