Knee Deep Festival – Nubya Garcia: The Open Fund for Organisations
Hidden amongst the Cornish countryside, Knee Deep Festival is a weekend-long celebration of the best in new and progressive music, art and culture. Priding itself in showcasing future stars in an intimate setting – with an alumni that includes the likes of Glass Animals, Kate Tempest, Koreless, Loyle Carner, Lone, Whitney and Wolf Alice – KD champions fresh thinking and expansive ideas, right across the arts.
Each year, Knee Deep welcomes 1,000 people to its secret and secluded site to immerse themselves within a fiercely diverse music program, interactive installations, creative workshops, performance art and forward-focused talks – across 5 stages and multiple performance spaces.
Founded by a group of school friends, the festival is built upon a thoroughly independent ethos. Run by a small team of volunteers and devoid of any corporate sponsorship, profits are split between chosen charities and being reinvested into future events.
KD offers a platform for eclectic creativity, in the heart of the South West. With the help of the PRS Foundation’s Open Fund, we will be able to continue booking far-reaching, boundary-pushing lineups from across the UK and beyond. Connecting them with a new and engaged audience, and in the process, forging new fan bases for the next wave of cultural pioneers.
