The Nest Collective: The Open Fund for Organisations

A new talent development programme for emerging, diverse folk music creators.

“Tradition is not worshipping the ashes, but fanning the flames..” – Gustav Mahler

The Nest Collective, founded by folk singer Sam Lee, is a leading force in reinvigorating contemporary and cross cultural folk music in the UK. Our Associate Artist programme will enable us to invest in the development of four diverse emerging music creators across 9 months.

Selected from an open call out by an industry panel, our Associate Artists will enjoy a bespoke programme of performance, promotion and mentoring opportunities, launched at an industry event this Spring. Performance opportunities will include a mini tour of Campfire Clubs across the UK (London, Bristol, Sheffield, Stroud), a support slot for a larger act, or a slot at one of our Unamplifire festivals. All Associate Artists will be featured in our Campfire Club Sessions – a series of online performance videos, and be promoted throughout the year via Nest Collective channels. We will pair each with a mentor to suit their needs and ambitions, and connect them with the repertoire and training offered by our Song Collectors Collective.

We are delighted to have the support of PRS Foundation and to help develop the next generation of cross cultural traditional music in the UK.”
