Total Refreshment Centre: The Open Fund for Organisations

Make Some Space is a new digital initiative hailing from the Total Refreshment Centre. 8 years since its creation, the musical hub that is TRC is once again re-inventing itself in the face of the new challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic. Having worked with artists over the years to develop one-off shows and unique sounding recordings, our new online content promises to be a symbiosis of these two elements, specially curated sessions that sound totally refreshing.

Music wise, we will be focusing on up and coming artists that we are very excited about and that we believe deserve to be amplified loud and clear. Inspired by 90’s TV talk shows and NPR’s acclaimed ‘Tiny Desk’ live session, this new program will also showcase cultural shakers and makers from London and beyond. A news section will feature reviews of books, films, music from our makers and their peers.

One of the artists we will be showcasing is trombonist, composer and producer Rosie Turton . Cited by The Guardian as ‘One To Watch’, she released her debut LP, ‘Rosie’s 5ive’ with Jazz Re:freshed in early 2019. Rosie’s musical path is defined by her unwavering desire to explore new territories: sounds, textures and collaborations, she’s always open to discoveries. Her music tells the tales of meditative soundscapes and improvisations, blurring the lines between the acoustic and electronic universes.
