Dorcha – Anna Palmer, Beth Bellis, Stella Roberts, Meesha Fones, Euan Palmer: Women Make Music

Dorcha are a genre fluid 5 piece band of synths, strings, electronics and heavy beats. A dynamic, versatile group with a refusenik attitude, Dorcha obsess over transporting listeners to a pool of shifting, nearly gothic, barely pop, experimental songwriting. Praised by the likes of BBC Radio 6’s Stuart Maconie on the Freak Zone, 2017 saw further progression in Dorcha’s recognition, with a live performance on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction, appearances at Flatpack Film Festival, Supernormal, Supersonic Festival and more. The band are currently working on a new album for release later in the year, with a single release of ‘Bruiser’ set for the end of May and Summer tour dates across the UK.

Funding from PRS Foundation has allowed Dorcha to embark on this first ever UK tour in support of their single release through Box Records, with shows lined up far and wide from May through to July, Dorcha bring along other female-led support acts in tow. By playing predominantly female-led 3 act bills in multiple regions across the UK, Dorcha become part of a wider movement addressing gender imbalance in music, whist showcasing their genre defying output alongside other like-minded, experimental cross-art-form acts of the highest calibre.
