HAWXX EP recording: Women Make Music
For:
HAWXX debut EP 'Deadlands' supported by PRS
HAWXX are Anna, Hannah, Jessica and Iman. Originally hailing from Greece, Wales, England and Bahrain, they founded the band in Wandsworth, South London in 2018. Named after the bird of prey, with the double XX symbolising the double XX female chromosome, HAWXX are proud to shake-up the male-dominated rock scene with a fresh sound and energy. HAWXX write songs about the lies of our current political climate, the deterioration of the NHS, about self empowerment and about how love is a bitch.
HAWXX have released 4 singles – 2 with Larry Hibbitt (Hundred Reasons, Marmozets, Dinosaur Pileup) and 2 with Paul Matthews (I Am Giant), all receiving a consistent positive response from press and radio, with airplay from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Planet Rock Radio. Having been selected as receipients of the Women Make Music Grant by PRS, HAWXX will be recording their debut EP ‘Deadlands’ with Larry Hibbitt in early 2020.
