Martha Ffion: Women Make Music

Martha Ffion is the musical project of Glasgow-based Irish songwriter Claire Martha Ffion McKay. Building on the promise she showed with her first self-released EP, Go in 2014, Martha’s sound has continued to bloom, leading to her signing with Turnstile – home to Cate Le Bon, Gwenno Saunders, Emmy the Great and more. Her recent releases, Wallflower and We Disappear showcase her unique style, where classic 60s songwriting meets dream pop, justifying the hugely impressive support Martha Ffion has already received from Marc Riley, Jo Whiley, Mary Anne Hobbs, Huw Stephens and John Kennedy.

With support from PRS for Music Foundation‘s Women Make Music initiative, Martha Ffion is setting off on a nine date tour of the UK this October, starting in Manchester and taking in The Sebright Arms in London on October 21 . Following a series of mini tours and appearances at both Latitude and End of the Road Festival this year, the tour will also coincide with the release of Martha Ffion‘s first EP via Turnstile, Trip. With GoldFlakePaint citing Martha Ffion as “an artist that seems ready-made for wider acclaim” and Clash calling her “an intriguing talent” this tour is a chance to see one of the most promising young artists around.
