Mentoring in Music Production, Project Management and Mental Health

Yasmine Davies is a 27 year old songwriter, industry creative and aspiring music producer from the Rhymney valleys. She’s also the founder of music industry project “Resonant” which helps people of marginalised genders access training and resources within tech based or ‘behind the scenes’ roles such as music production, sound tech, event promotion and lighting design. She is also currently a lecturer at the University of South Wales, teaching on the Songwriting and Production Masters course.

From her lived experience as a working class lesbian, her main work centres around creating intentional spaces and support for those like herself who struggle to gain access to the music industry and face unique barriers that don’t often get the spotlight. Through the PPL Momentum Fund Yasmine will be receiving mentorship and training in music production, project management and the mental health sector to become better trained and proficient in all aspects on her career. She’ll be working with and training under other Welsh and/or LGBTQ+ creatives and plans to apply the skills to becoming an established music producer and a mental health coach in the future. Alongside the industry training, some of the funds will also be spent on tech and equipment to support her learning over the next year and add to her home studio set up.
