Yraki: Open Fund for Music Creators

Immersive Live Show of Ecstatic Club Music and Contemporary Dance

Yraki is the new avant-garde creation born of London-based artist Mariano Sibilia. Its existence is the manifestation of the inner workings of Sibilia’s mind interacting with the sensations of the outer world propelled into form via his synaesthesia. As an external expression, from an electronic world detached from the rules and strictures of human life, Yraki’s existence is a conduit for pure creativity. While synesthesia, a neurodivergent condition that causes a blending of the senses – e.g. seeing sound or hearing colour – has long been linked to heightened creativity, Yraki maximises its potential as a driver for highly emotive, forward-facing sound design in his debut EP ‘Argento’ on London based label inklingroom. Following an incredibly well-received rework for the London label’s inaugural release, not to mention finding support from Hyperdub stalwart Loraine James, the hugely immersive and kaleidoscopic EP serves as Sibilia’s debut record proper. Yraki’s new live performance will showcase his signature blend of idiosyncratic experimental sound design and club aesthetics combined with live choreography by Estonian choreographer Keity Pook.
