NIKKI BEDI

Nikki Bedi is an international television and radio broadcaster with a passion for making arts and culture accessible. She describes herself as glocal (a global local).

Nikki has been covering the arts across the world for over two decades, interviewing celebrities and industry heavyweights; reviewing films, books, television and theatre and both judging and chairing awards. Her international knowledge, world view and comprehensive research has led to her being described as a ‘cultural courier who is de-colonising the world one programme at a time’.

A key part of this is her two long running shows on the BBC World Service (97million listeners) ‘The Arts Hour’ is her weekly show which she curates, writes and presents and the monthly ‘Arts Hour On Tour’ travels to different parts of the world, meeting that country’s biggest and brightest artists, actors, musicians, authors, directors, composers, architects, poets and choreographers for a spirited debate before a live audience.

Nikki recently became the new presenter on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live, a job she’s happy to give up her Friday nights for.

In her spare time Nikki watches inordinate amounts of television.
